Soula Pefkaros

Founder (2017) and Owner of Golden Ratio Clay Works ~ Lead Design + Wheel Throwing + Jiggering

Soula founded Golden Ratio Clay Works in 2017 in Harrisonburg, VA. She first worked with clay in high school and it was instant love. She took classes in community studios for many years and finally set up a home studio in 2017.

She imagined Golden Ratio would be a "side gig" but quickly realized she thrives being her own boss. She finds meaning and purpose in the challenges and opportunities of growing a business on her own terms, aligned with her social and political values. "Side gig" became "all in" almost immediately.

Soula has a fierce passion for product design, testing and tweaking each one until it meets both functional and aesthetic vision. She has a particular interest in designing sets and finding harmony between different forms.

Soula draws inspiration from her Greek Cypriot cultural ancestry and the colors and textures of the land and food in Cyprus and the Mediterranean Sea.
